After a rebellion on Tuesday that saw several jurors ask to be excused, the jury in the Manhattan federal court bribery trial of former gubernatorial aide Joe Percoco resumed deliberations on Thursday but failed to reach a verdict.

The jury didn’t work on Wednesday due to the nor’easter. On Tuesday, the foreman said the panel was unable to agree, but despite the deadlock and requests to be excused, U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni ordered all 12 to get back to work on Thursday.

In its only note, the jury asked for a transcript of the entire 5-week trial, which would have required the judge and lawyers to go through thousands of pages and eliminate all “sidebar” discussions outside the jury’s presence as well as questions about which objections were sustained.

Caproni told jurors it would take days, and they didn’t renew the request. They are scheduled to return on Friday for a sixth day of deliberations.
