Okajima, Yankees agree to minor league deal

The Yankees have agreed to a minor league contract with lefty reliever Hideki Okajima, which will also include an invitation to spring training, according to multiple reports.
Okajima, 36, spent the majority of last season pitching for Triple-A Pawtucket and was left off the Red Sox's opening day roster. He made only seven appearances for Boston during the regular season, going 1-0 with a 4.32 ERA.
The Yankees used Boone Logan as their lone lefty out of the bullpen during the 2011 season.
Okajima helped the Red Sox to a championship in 2007 and was named to the AL All-Star team. In five seasons with Boston, Okajima was 17-8 with 3.11 ERA in 261 games. Okajima came to the Red Sox in 2007 after pitching with the Yomiuri Giants and Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters in Japan.
