Yogi Berra will not attend this weekend's annual Hall of Fame induction ceremonies, the director of the legend's museum confirmed in an e-mail to Newsday Wednesday morning.

"Right now he's recovering and rehabbing his injured foot," said Dave Kaplan, director of the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center, in the e-mail.

Berra, 85, fell at his home Friday and was taken to a Montclair, N.J., hospital Saturday night because of bleeding relating to the fall. Berra, who missed Saturday's Old-Timers' Day, also suffered a hairline fracture in his foot. As of the end of the weekend, Berra still planned to attend the Hall of Fame ceremonies in Cooperstown but recuperation has taken longer than expected.

"Obviously he's very disappointed," Kaplan said.
