Islanders captain Anders Lee on Wednesday was named a finalist for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy along with the Oilers’ Darnell Nurse and the Flames’ Mikael Backlund.

The trophy is given annually “to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.”

Lee has spearheaded fundraising and scholarship efforts for families affected by cancer. The trophy will be awarded on June 26 in Nashville.

Also on Wednesday, the Islanders announced Finnish left wing Eetu Liukas, a fifth-round pick in 2021, has agreed to a three-year, entry-level deal. The 6-2, 202-pound Liukas, 20, had 14 goals and nine assists in 58 games for HPK Hameenlinna in the SM-Liiga last season.
