Ducks pushed to brink again after loss to Lexington

The Ducks are on the brink, once again. Losses? They can’t happen anymore. One more and the Ducks season — and quest for back-to-back titles — is over.
The Ducks lost to the Lexington Legends, 6-3, in Game 3 of the best-of-five Atlantic League Championship Series in Kentucky Monday night. The Legends lead the series, 2-1. They are looking for their first Atlantic League championship in their first season in the league.
After Ducks third baseman Deibinson Romero’s two-run home run in the top eighth inning tied the score at 3, Lexington reclaimed the lead with three two-out runs in the bottom half. Ben Revere’s RBI double off Darrell Thompson gave the Legends a 4-3 lead. The next batter, Roberto Baldoquin, singled to drive in Revere, pushing the lead to 5-3. Lexington added one more run after an RBI single by Juan Silverio.
The Ducks fell behind 1-0 in the third inning and tied the score at 1 on Boog Powell’s home run in the fifth. But, the Legends scored twice in the sixth on a two-run single from Silverio to take a 3-1 lead.
Ducks starting pitcher Scott Harkin allowed three runs and four hits in six innings. He struck out six and walked three.
