Trevor Bauer may no longer be a Long Island Duck after signing with Mexico’s Diablos Rojos del Mexico on June 22, but the Atlantic League isn’t done with him yet.

Bauer was named to the league’s midseason all-star team after posting a 5-1 record with a 2.36 ERA and 66 strikeouts in 42 innings. He walked just seven batters and had several memorable outings as a Duck, including a seven-inning no-hitter at Lancaster on April 26 and a franchise record 15-strikeout game against Gastonia on May 12.

The 35-year-old started on opening night for the franchise in April, his first game in the United States since receiving a 194-game suspension for violating MLB’s domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy. Bauer was never charged, and civil claims against him were later settled. The 2020 NL Cy Young winner last pitched in MLB in June 2021.

Ducks outfielder Jacob Robson earned an all-star nod in his debut season on Long Island. He boasts a .988 OPS and sits second in the Atlantic League with a .598 slugging percentage. Robson is also fifth in home runs (17). Reliever Ramon Santos, who signed with Mexico’s Saraperos de Saltillo on June 27, was also named to the all-star team after earning nine saves — still tied for the most in the league — and a 0.95 ERA in 19 innings.
