Celebrate with us as Newsday turns 80
Eighty years ago, Long Island was a series of small towns separated by vast expanses of trees. When Newsday was born on Sept. 3, 1940, we became one of the few links unifying the Island, a role we are still proud to play to this day through our newspaper, website, app, events, upcoming TV studio and so much more. Here’s a look at how Newsday – and Long Island – has evolved in those eight decades, and thank you for your support and for being a part of our family.
