Nassau police detectives are investigating another attempted purse snatching after a 56-year-old woman fought off a would-be robber Tuesday in Baldwin.
The latest incident matches a string of robberies in the area, police said.
The woman exited her vehicle in her driveway and was approached by a man who tried to steal her handbag. A struggle ensued and she was able to retain her bag as the suspect fled, police said.
The woman said she felt pain in her left wrist after the incident, but refused medical treatment, police said.
The man, is believed to be in his early 20s was about 5-foot-7 with a thin build, medium complexion and was clean shaven, police said. He was wearing a blue or black sweatshirt with white lettering, dark jeans and a dark-colored hat.
