Kim Kardashian reiterated Wednesdsay that her 72-day marriage was not a publicity stunt.

"It's sad that I even have to defend that," Kardashian, 31, told the Sydney, Australia, morning show "Sunrise" in one of her first interviews since announcing she was ending her marriage to pro basketball player Kris Humphries, "but I guess that's what you get when you live your life on a reality show."

On a tour of Australia to promote her handbag line, Kardashian said being a reality-TV star was "a double-edged sword," explaining, "We want to share these great times but when you want to have some private time you're not really allowed to."

Kardashian's mother and manager, Kris Jenner, told the syndicated radio show "Johnjay and Rich" that Kim "didn't make a dime off of this wedding," which attracted numerous sponsors, and free goods and services.

Jenner conceded to "Today" that her daughter "made some money for the pictures that were sold and things like that," but did not profit, Jenner insisted, since the money went to pay for the lavish wedding, estimated to cost $10 million.

Meanwhile, The E! television network said in a statement that any insinuation that it orchestrated the lavish wedding "is completely false."
