Jace Amaro says he will play Sunday; Ryan says Wilkerson 50-50, less optimistic on Harvin
Jets rookie tight end Jace Amaro expects to play against the Titans on Sunday.
Amaro was cleared for contact and practiced fully for the first time since suffering a concussion nearly three weeks ago against the Buffalo Bills in Detroit.
"I felt back to normal today,'' said Amaro, who has 34 receptions for 291 yards and two touchdowns. "I'll be playing Sunday.''
Meanwhile, Rex Ryan said there's a "50-50'' chance that Muhammad Wilkerson (turf toe) will suit up. Wilkerson, who missed the past two games, is wearing a specialized cleat. Ryan said he was limited and did "did very little'' at practice.
Though Percy Harvin said Wednesday he's "definitely'' playing, the receiver did not practice and Ryan said he's "a lot less optimistic'' about Harvin's status for Sunday. "I think we'll see Percy again before the season is over,'' Ryan said. "Will we see him this week? I'm not sure.''
McGaughey focusing
Asked about openly campaigning for the vacant head-coaching job at the University of Houston, Jets special- teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey admitted his timing "was probably bad.'' But he also made it clear he's very much open to the opportunity at his alma mater. "I bleed Cougar Red,'' he said. "I played there. I met my wife there. We had my son there. I got married there. That place is special to me.'' But McGaughey insisted his focus is on this season and said he has not set up an interview.

Antonio Allen (broken hand) also did not practice. Nick Folk (hip) and Trevor Reilly (concussion) practiced fully . . . Eric Decker's wife, country singer Jessie James Decker, will perform at halftime of Jets-Pats on Dec. 21.
