Billy Joel may soon be “movin’ out” of his waterfront home in Sagaponack. 
Nancy Mizrahi of Saunders &amp; Associates, the listing agent for the 5,500-square-foot house, confirmed that it recently went into contract. The house has been on the market for $19.95 million since June. Mizrahi said it will close “pretty soon,” though she declined to provide any more details on the potential buyer. 
The third time may be the charm for the rocker, who first tried to sell the home in 2009 for $22.5 million. It was put back on the market last year for $23.5 million. 
Joel bought the cedar-shingled home, which was built for actor Roy Scheider, in 2007. Aside from 145 feet of sandy beach, there is an oceanfront pool permit in place. Inside, there are four first-floor en-suite bedrooms, with a chef’s kitchen — renovated by celebrity TV designer Nate Berkus — dining and living room on the upper level.&nbsp; 
Joel also owns properties in Centre Island, Sag Harbor and Huntington.&nbsp; &nbsp;

This modern beachfront home has provided one Manhattan resident with an escape from the city, but without the three-hour drive to the East End. Daily News columnist and novelist Linda Stasi recently listed her six-bedroom, 3½-bathroom Atlantic Beach home for $3.799 million. 
“You’re on the same ocean as the Hamptons,” says Stasi. 
The home has been used for fashion shoots and served as the home of Henry Winkler’s character in the USA show “Royal Pains.” 
In the kitchen of the 7,500-square-foot home are handmade custom cabinets, rare Iranian white granite countertops and a Wolf stove with attached induction range. There are two balconies overlooking the ocean, as well as a playroom and gym. The bottom floor has a finished kitchen, so the space can be converted into a separate apartment. 
Stasi says the house, built in the 1940s, sustained no damage from superstorm Sandy. 
The property is listed with Satish Thakersey and Ann Morreel of Citi Habitats.

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper is putting his second Quiogue property up for sale after trying to rent it out. Cooper is asking $3.599 million for the English Country waterfront cottage. 
The four-bedroom, 3½-bath home was built in 1928 — the year is carved into the center of the stone fireplace in living room — and was once a sports club for a nearby estate, according Douglas Elliman Real Estate Enzo Morabito Team, which is listing the property. The house was raised after superstorm Sandy, so it is FEMA-compliant. There is a heated pool on the 2.4-acre property as well as a dock. 
The property comes with a non-buildable island, and is believed to have been originally part of the land owned by the St. George family. It was dredged in the 1920s, creating the island. The property also includes a single and separate ¾-acre lot. 
The house is still available to rent in August for $75,000. 
Cooper also just lowered the price of his other listing, a five-bedroom home next door, by $100,000 to $2.599 million.

This Sagaponack property comes with an art studio and overlooks an agricultural reserve, so it comes as no surprise that the sellers are full of creativity. Alec Sokolow co-wrote the screenplay for “Toy Story” and was nominated for an Oscar, and his wife, Leslie, is a professional photographer known for her large-scale abstract photographs of beaches and other natural features. 
The home recently came on the market for $1.999 million. 
“It’s not your cookie-cookie cutter Hamptons house,” says listing agent Tracy Annacone of Town &amp; Country Real Estate. “That’s why it appealed to them, because they’re artsy, creative people. It just kind of breeds creativity.” 
The three-story, Federal-style home has an enormous wraparound porch, and there are four bedrooms, plus a loft and 3½ bathrooms, including one with a unique stone floor. The 2-acre property is around the corner from the Wolffer Estate vineyard, and along with the barn-like art studio is a heated pool.

It may not be a money pit, but the Lattingtown mansion used in the 1986 Tom Hanks movie about a fixer-upper may set someone back $12.5 million. The eight-bedroom house, built in 1898 on 5.5 acres, just hit the market and luckily doesn’t need any renovations. The current homeowners did all the work after buying the home in 2002.&nbsp; 
Eric Ridder of the Knight-Ridder newspaper family owned the house when the exterior was used for the movie. Interior shots were filmed on a sound stage. The movie follows a young couple (Hanks and Shelley Long) and their home renovation plagued by one disaster after another, including a tub that sinks through the bathroom floor and shatters. 
“We call it the ‘money pit no more,’ ” says Shawn Elliott, president of Shawn Elliott Luxury Homes and Estates, which is listing the property. “It’s the furthest thing from ‘The Money Pit.’ ” 
The sellers put millions of dollars into renovating and restoring the home, which now has luxurious French flair. In addition to new plumbing, heating and electrical systems, and a new roof, the house now has a large chef’s kitchen with marble countertops and a mahogany center island and plenty of entertaining spaces filled with antique and modern touches, including an imported 500-year-old French fireplace and refrigerated wine wall in the media room. 
On the second floor is a sprawling master suite with a sitting room and dressing area, and four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The lower level includes a large recreation room and a gym with a fireplace. 
Out back, beyond the herringbone brick veranda, is an in-ground heated saltwater pool and an 800-square-foot pool house with a full kitchen and bathroom, a changing room and a laundry room. &nbsp; 
“This home, being shy of six acres, is as palatial as it gets,” Elliott says. “It’s almost like a home you’d find somewhere in Paris. When you’re in the home or in the backyard, you feel like you’re some place in Europe.”

Even a Big Fish can get lost in this small "pond" on Shelter Island. Actor Ewan McGregor rented the waterfront property, now on the market for $5.125 million, confirms listing agent Penelope Moore of Saunders &amp; Associates. 
Moore says the Scottish actor was so inconspicuous that she didn't know he had rented the property in 2011 and 2012 on the east side of Shelter Island until owners recently told her. "When people come to the island, they take their makeup off and settle down and just blend into the scenery," Moore says. "It's a quiet place." 
The 2.6-acre compound has two homes. One is a sprawling three-bedroom ranch built in 1956 with a wraparound sun room that overlooks the water. The other is a three-bedroom Nouveau-style pavilion with radiant heat stone floors, vaulted ceilings with floor-to-ceiling windows and an observation tower with views to Connecticut. The master suite has a balcony. 
Moore says the current owners built the cottage eight years ago, and designed it with references to a boat they loved, with mahogany floors and benches on chains. Between the two homes, and overlooking the water, is a gunite pool with mahogany decking. There's also a Har-Tru hydro tennis court and a path that leads to the beach, where there's a mooring. 
The home is also available to rent for $40,000 from Aug. 1 through Labor Day or $10,000 per week.

Billy Joel is in a new Realtor state of mind. 
The rocker recently re-listed his his oceanfront Sagaponack home with a new agent, Nancy Mizrahi of Saunders, for $19.95 million. The 5,550-square-foot house, on 145 feet of sandy beach, had been on the market with Biana Stepanian of The Corcoran Group for $23.5 million. 
This is the third time the Joel has put the home on the market. He first tried to sell it in 2009 for $22.5 million, later cutting the price to $16.75 million. 
The home has been redecorated a bit, and the listing photos show refinished hardwood floors in the kitchen and living room.

Madeleine Albright, the first female Secretary of State who served President Bill Clinton, called this Upper Brookville mansion home starting in the 1960s. The seven-bedroom home was recently listed for $2.998 million. 
Albright, 77, was married to Joseph Medill Patterson Albright, whose aunt, Alicia Patterson, founded Newsday in 1940. He also helped run Newsday after his aunt died in 1963. 
In the 1998 book “Seasons of Her Life: A Biography of Madeleine Korbel Albright,” author Ann Blackman writes that Albright and her husband loved the house and kept it for years, even after they moved back to Washington, D.C., and could only use it in the spring and summer. 
“They had a nanny for the children, but they tended the grounds themselves,” Blackman wrote. “The wide sweep of lawn was the scene of annual Easter egg hunts for friends’ and neighbors’ children, as well as regular scavenger hunts and barbecues.” 
The home was also once owned by a member of the Tiffany family, and is famous for its lamps and stained-glass windows, says listing agent Michael Stanco of Douglas Elliman Real Estate. The same craftsmen that created the wood moldings and fireplace mantles at Raynham Hall in Oyster Bay, now a museum, did similar work on this home. 
A portion of the home was constructed in the early 19th century, but most of it was built in 1920. It was renovated and expanded in 2006, with newly designed bedrooms and a new master suite. The 4.3-acre property also includes a cottage, a saltwater gunite pool and a pool house.

Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian have rented a waterfront 9,000-square-foot mansion in North Sea for the summer, said sources with knowledge of the deal. 
The sisters, who raised the ire of locals when word got out that they had rented a space in Southampton Village for their DASH boutique, will presumably be filming part of their new E! show, "Kourtney &amp; Khloé Take the Hamptons," in the five-bedroom, 6½-bathroom house with a distinctive gambrel roof. The property lies on three acres along North Sea Harbor near Southampton Village and has a heated pool, a covered porch with a fireplace and an 80-foot private dock, the real estate listing said. 
It was available to rent from Memorial Day to Labor Day for $295,000, and has also been on the market, most recently for $13.95 million. 
It should be a 10-minute drive to the pop-up shop on Jobs Lane. 
Southampton Mayor Mark Epley said that even friends from out of state have asked him about the news that the reality TV stars are coming to town. 
"People come out to the East End of Long Island and they want their privacy protected and they want to be able to walk the streets and be left alone," Epley says. "I'm hoping that this is a nonevent with them and it doesn't create issues." 
Residents expressed similar desires. 
"North Sea is generally a quiet place," said Barbara Fair, past president of the North Sea Community Association. "It's sort of considered the non-Hamptons by some, and we're not quite used to the celebrity status. It will be a new experience for all of us and hopefully it will not be unpleasant." 
The TV show, which according to reports started filming Tuesday, is scheduled to air in the fall.

Comedian Louis C.K. has joked that if he had $85 billion he would “buy every baseball team and make them all wear dresses.” While he hasn’t gone that far, C.K. has purchased a Tudor-style home on Shelter Island that once hosted baseball legend Babe Ruth, says a source close to the deal. 
C.K. closed on the 2-acre waterfront estate on May 20 for $2.44 million, says the source. The home had originally been listed for $4.9 million, and the price was lowered over the years, most recently to $2.49 million, the source says. 
Asked about the purchase, a spokeswoman for C.K. said by email, "Unfortunately he is unavailable to participate at this time." 
The six-bedroom home, named Primrose, was reportedly built around 1901 for then-President William McKinley and his mistress, according to family lore. It&nbsp;was mentioned in the 1999 book “Never-Never Land: The Saga of Westmoreland Farm.” 
The cottage has lots of original details, including Mercer tiles — handmade tiles by tile-maker Henry Chapman Mercer of Pennsylvania — surrounding two of the home’s six fireplaces. 
The source says that C.K. plans to restore the historic structure. 
Linda McCarthy of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty listed the property.

Faith Popcorn, Madison Avenue’s famed go-to consultant for predicting trends and the woman who coined the term “cocooning,” obviously cares about a comfortable home. Look at the gut renovation of her waterfront 1,100-square-foot guesthouse in Wainscott. 
Popcorn’s main house is a dark hued cocoon, but next door she chose trend setter Ani Antreasyan, part of the new breed of decorators redefining Hamptons style, to create what she calls a loft-like space that “has a very light feel, like it’s floating in the sky.” 
The home was originally an ice house, built in the 1930s, where hunters brought their fish, fowl and venison to be stored. Years later, it was bought as a cottage, and the two bedrooms and two bathrooms were added as an extension. &nbsp; 
“It belonged to a single man, for more than 30 years, who was rarely here,” says Antreasyan. 
The house needed work. 
“I told her it was all about the view,” recalls Antreasyan, who favors natural colors and mixing antique rough-hewn accents with hard edge modernism. “We looked through the glass doors and I said, ‘This is it. We’re getting the sky and the water.’"&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
When Antreasyan talks about mixing her own custom "colors," she's talking about the perfect bluish gray stain on the resanded floor and a combination of custom whites and creams on the walls and ceilings. They opened up the kitchen from a&nbsp; dark brown room to a gray and brushed steel. “It became a loft overlooking the water," she says. 
Such decorating is usually a collaboration. “We start collecting things," she says. "You put them all together and it becomes a story." 
Here, a starting point was the serpentine sconces Popcorn had bought in an East Hampton antique show that they put over the mantel. In the living room, Antreasyan replaced the plastic floor with vintage oak flooring that came from a church in Sag Harbor. 
“The leather chairs are vintage, from online auctions,” she continues. The marble Italian oval dining table was also an web find. And because it is a guesthouse, the kitchen and couch came from Ikea, including a deep sink “so you can wash small pets, or do potting.”

While there are no Hilton hotels in the Hamptons, you can rent a Hilton house in the Hamptons this summer. 
Back on the rental market this year is Rick and Kathy Hilton’s 10,500-square-foot home on 2.7 acres of land in Water Mill. (Those are Paris Hilton's parents.) With 10 bedrooms and 10½ newly renovated baths (which includes those on the lower level), the Gambrel home comes with the requisite upper-market Hamptons amenities – pool, hot tub, carpet green lawns and, in this case, private ocean access. 
The home is on property that was part of the Fordune estate, owned by Henry Ford II, and purchased by the Hiltons in 1999 for $2.385 million, according to property records. 
The Hiltons are asking $450,000 for the Memorial-Day-to-Labor-Day rental season.

Architect Myron Goldfinger had one of his Long Island designs featured in a party scene in “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Just think of the parties that could be thrown in one waterfront contemporary he designed in Southampton that was recently listed for $32.5 million. 
The sculptural, sand castle-like mansion on almost 4.7 acres has unobstructed ocean and bay views from most rooms, and sunlight shines in through panels of skylights. The original house was built in 1984. In the mid-’90s, the owners commissioned Goldfinger to build an addition that houses the master suite and an indoor pool surrounded by walls of glass. In addition to the six bedrooms and 6½ bathrooms, there are plenty of spaces for entertaining, including a game room, media room and an outdoor pool by the ocean. 
“It’s just a special home,” says listing agent Evan Kulman of The Corcoran Group. “It has this calming effect as soon as you walk in.”

On the heels of news that he is <a href="http://www.newsday.com/classifieds/real-estate/realli-long-island-real-estate-blog-newsday-com-1.812034/anderson-cooper-selling-one-of-his-quiogue-homes-1.7803571" target="new">selling his Quiogue home</a>, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper is now trying to rent out a second house he owns next door, a real estate listing and property records show. 
Cooper is asking $165,000 for a stay at the English Country waterfront cottage from Memorial Day to Labor Day. For June, he’s asking $40,000; for July, $75,000; for August to Labor Day, $85,000. (See the house <a href="http://hreo.com/html/inn_search.jsp?innum=68279" target="new">here</a>.) 
The four-bedroom, 3.5-bath 1928 home -- once a sports club for a nearby estate -- is about 3,800 square feet. There is a heated pool on the 2.3-acre property as well as a dock. 
The house is “completely renovated and features decorating touches by a world-famous designer,” the listing with Douglas Elliman Real Estate says. 
That would likely be Cooper’s mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, who also helped her son put together his house next door. He is asking $2.999 million for that property.

CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper just listed one of two waterfront homes he owns in Quiogue, according to the website marketing the property. 
Cooper is asking $2.999 million for the 2.4-acre property, which has a pool. (You can see the house <a href="http://enzomorabito.com/properties/residential/465/12-st-george-place/" target="new">here</a>.) It contains a 3,654-square-foot cottage built in 1946 with two fireplaces that's located on Aspatuck Creek. It has five bedrooms, five bathrooms and a half-bath. 
There is also a pool house and a detached garage with guest quarters. 
Real estate records show he paid $1.7 million for the property in 2012 from Betsy Schulberg, widow of Budd Schulberg, the Academy Award-winning writer of the screenplay "On the Waterfront." 
The home has since been renovated with help from Cooper's mother, iconic designer Gloria Vanderbilt, and had been available for rent this summer as it had the season before. 
Cooper also owns the home next door. He bought the 1910 lodge in 2003. It has a heated pool and is on more than two acres. 
The property is listed with the Enzo Morabito Team at Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

Strongheart, a historic manor house poised on a six-acre bay-front parcel in the village of North Haven, hasn't sold despite the fact that it is owned by Richard Gere. Now the actor has lowered the asking price by $9 million, according to the website for the agency listing the property. 
The 12-bedroom, 12-bath house -- which was built in 1890 and renovated by its current owners -- was first listed last summer for $65 million. Now on the market for $56 million, the home is flanked by two guesthouses, each on its own lot, and boasts an al fresco fireplace pavilion and a teahouse nestled on a private island in a waterfront pond. 
The 6.3-acre property is located on Actors Colony Road, a street that got its name about a century ago when such thespians of the day as Ethel Barrymore, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and Mary Pickford visited there. 
The property is listed with Linda Haugevik of Sotheby’s International Realty.

LuAnn de Lesseps, one of the stars of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of New York City," recently bought a waterfront home in Sag Harbor, according to real estate records. 
De Lesseps, whose reality TV show premiered its sixth season this week, paid $3.1 million for the 1835 waterfront home, reports Long Island Profiles, a Brightwaters-based real estate data gatherer. It had been listed for $2.65 million, according to the real estate records. 
De Lesseps says she fell in love with the house when she saw it, describing it as "warm and cozy." 
"Now that my kids are grown, I decided that my next chapter would be living in a smaller house by the water," she says. 
The three-bedroom, three-bath Greek Revival house comes with a dock on Upper Sag Harbor Cove as well as wide-plank flooring and three fireplaces. The 2,500-square-foot home is on a .31-acre lot with a heated artist's studio with its own waterside deck. 
This week, de Lesseps, also known as The Countess, lowered the asking price of her Bridgehampton home to $8.995 million. It came on the market in late 2013 for $9.45 million, says listing agent Christopher Burnside of Brown Harris Stevens. There was one previous price reduction, to $9.2 million. 
"There are a lot of great memories in my old house, but I'm looking forward to the new memories to be made in Sag Harbor," says de Lesseps. 
She says that her son, Noel, will be able to have a boat and go fishing and that she will enjoy walking into town to go shopping and to dine at the American Hotel.
